Deck 33 is a cool, retro-modern indoor/outdoor space with great heat lamps. It overlooks the pool area of the Custom Hotel, which is located on Lincoln Boulevard halfway between Marina Del Rey and LAX.

Here’s the Deal

Happy Hour:  Deck 33’s Social Hour is from 5p to 7p daily.   The food, draft beer, wine, sangria, and well cocktails are $5 each. You can also get a beer flight for $10.

What to drink: The beer flight comes with four 6oz samplings of an Anderson Valley Amber, Weihenstephaner Original, Mission Hefeweizen, and Chimay Triple. Wine drinkers can get a Chardonnay or Cabernet, and the sangria comes in both red and white.

What to eat:  We had the Fried Calamari Steaks, which were wonderful and different from the usual spiral fried calamari at most other places. At Deck 33, they were big pieces of calamari more like a piece of steak or tuna and they were served in a Mae Ploy Sweet Chili Sauce. The Brussel Sprouts were great and served with avocado, bacon, lime juice, and chili flakes.  The beef sliders with cheddar, bacon, arugula, and carmelized onion served on Hawaiian bread were good as well. A healthy option not on the Social Hour menu is the Kale Salad for $11, although next time I would try the Spinach Salad.

Parking:  Free Valet Parking with validation
