Larry’s in Venice – A Happy Spot for Happy Hour
Larry’s is a cool spot admist the funky tattoo parlors and tourist-y shops of Venice on Windward Avenue. A large, comfortable bar graces an indoor/outdoor dining room with a vibe more West Hollywood than Venice Beach. Larry’s come to us from the team behind Culver City’s Gastropub Waterloo & City, and is named for the owners’ long time friend and influential Southern California Artist Larry Bell. Chef Brendan Collins oversees the eclectic menu. Larry’s has 26 beers on draft and over 20 global wines to enjoy by the glass or bottle.
Here’s the Deal
Happy Hour: 4-6pm Monday through Friday, 10pm-12am Friday and Saturday nights
What to drink: Larry’s is a beer and wine only joint, but the selection of beer flights and excellent wines is impressive. All Happy Hour beer and wine is $5 per glass.
What to eat: The Happy Hour menu includes 3 pizzas for $10 each such as the “Porkalicious” with sausage bacon, prosciutto and chorizo. We had the Wild Arugula and Fig Salad with coppy, parmesan, smoked almonds and aged balsamic vinaigrette for $6 and the Shrimp Regut Pasta which was capellini pasta with a lobster tomato sauce, basil and truffle for $8. Also $8 is the Grilled Cheese with short rib, raisin bread, chantal cheese and arugula – which sounds amazing.
Parking: It is easiest to ride your bike because the bike path between Marina Del Rey and Venice is beautiful. Otherwise, there is metered street parking and parking lots throughout the area.
