This North Venice staple is in a cool building with arches and red columns with Corinthian caps that also houses a number of well-known yoga studios. Modern elegance with high ceilings and touches of gleaming gold walls tastefully done make for a very comfortable room.

Happy Hour: Chaya Venice’s Happy Hour is from 5 to close 7 nights a week. Available only in the bar area, the Happy Hour menu includes specials on sushi, sweet potato fries and specialty cocktails for $4, $5 or $6. Wines are regularly priced
What to drink: The vodka lychee martini for $6 was excellent as was the pineapple infused vodka martini, also $6. There is also a cold sake flight available that has 3 two ounce servings of various sakes for $8 and sangria for $6. Wines are priced at $8-12, the Garnacha for $8 is a good Spanish wine for good value.
What to eat: We had the spicy tuna roll and albacore sashimi salad, both $6, terrific and served in generous portions. Off the $4 menu the Satsuma sweet potato fries, edamame and vegetable roll were all excellent.
Parking: Metered parking is available up and down the block and surrounding streets.
