A Taste of Italy at Via Alloro’s Happy Hour
301 N. Cañon
Famed Italian Chefs Giacomino and Tanino Drago, two of the three brothers behind such great LA restaurants as Tanino Ristorante Bar (Westwood), Il Pastaio, Piccolo Paradiso (Beverly Hills) and Celestino (Pasadena) bring you this chic Beverly Hills Italian restaurant.
Via Alloro is a handsomely decorated Northern Italian Restaurant. In the bar area, there are a range of TV screens, with the center screen broadcasting the action in the restaurant’s kitchen.
Here’s the Deal
Happy Hour: 5pm to 7pm Daily, at the bar or the high top tables in the bar area only.
What to Drink: All Happy Hour drinks are $5 including the great vodka martinis with Seagram’s vodka. If you want wine, they serve a great Pinot Grigio and Chianti at Happy Hour.
What to Eat: The Happy Hour menu is full of delicious dishes all for $5. We recommend starting with the Chopped Salad – a delicious combination of lettuce, tomatoes, sharp provolone, garbanzo beans and salami with a red wine vinegar and oregano dressing. Next up, give the Steamed Mussels in a light and spicy tomato broth a try. They come with french fries. The Pizza Margherita is thin, crisy and delcious with fresh tomatoes and basil. The tuna tartare on risotto crisps were delicious. And finally, the Panino with mild Italian Sausage is Via Alloro’s version of a slider, comes with french fries and is very very good.
Bartenders to Meet: Francisco is the bartender until about 5:30p and Dom comes in after. Both are competent and very nice.
Parking: There is a valet, however, we always find metered parking going north from Wilshire on Beverly, on Dayton or a block east on Crescent.
