Belmont’s Happening Happy Hour
747 N. La Cienega Blvd.
(Between Melrose and Santa Monica Blvd.)
The Belmont is a very cool, atmospheric restaurant with a great bar scene. The space is dark but the tables and bar area are lit so that you can actually read the menus. The staff is friendly and efficient.
Here’s the Deal
Happy Hour: daily from 4pm to 7pm with drinks and appetizers all half off (except the crab legs!).
What to Drink: Belmont serves great martinis for $6 and their selected red or white wines are each $5 (and very good!) We had a Portillo Malbec.
What to Eat: The food is fabulous and we recommend tuna tartare for $7, baby back ribs for $6.50, crab cakes for $7, grilled artichoke for $5.50, calamari for $6 and a fabulous shrimp cocktail either grilled or chilled for $6. They also have many reasonably priced salads on their regularly priced menu.
Bartenders to Meet: We recommend the very atttractive, nice and competent Meredith, who is an actress. She and the other attractive bartenders make great drinks and know the menu.
Parking: Valet for $7, however, if you circle the block once or twice you’ll probably find a meter, particularly on the east side of the street slightly north of the restaurant. The bartender also told me that there are a number of spaces to park on the side streets east of the restaurant.
